Funeral Ceremonies
As a heart-led celebrant, all funeral ceremonies I create are written from scratch. No templates, no ‘fill-in-the-gaps’ pre-written scripts.
Funerals are a ceremony that most of us don’t really look forward to. However, a well written, personalised funeral that ‘fits’ the person and their family can bring a lot of comfort to those attending the funeral.

How does it work?
I can be booked for funerals through your chosen funeral director – just tell them that you want to book me – or you can book me yourself.
I will then come out to visit you and talk about the person you have lost. I don’t necessarily need dates or a CV; rather I want to get a feel for the person, what they enjoyed, their passions, what they were proud of. How they lived.
From there I’ll write a script, which I will send to you to read beforehand and make any changes that you need.
On the day I’ll be at the venue to greet you. I will lead the ceremony that we have planned together and will be there to support you until everybody has left the venue and you are ready to go on to the wake or funeral tea if you are having one.
As a member of the Association of Independent Celebrants, my clients have access to a service called Grief Chat, which is a free support service that lets you chat directly to a specialist bereavement counsellor.
Costs
My fee for a funeral ceremony is from £300 for a single slot ceremony at a crematorium

Memorial ceremonies
In addition to Funerals, there are other ways to commemorate your loved ones.
With the rise in popularity of direct cremation, more people are opting for a Celebration of Life, or Memorial celebration seperate to the actual cremation. These can take place at almost any venue, without the time restrictions of a Crematorium service. Memorials can take place in any setting, at a time that suits you.
A living funeral or memorial is a service that takes place with the guest of honour breathing! If you are terminally ill and don’t want to miss your own party, then don’t wait! It can often seem a shame that people wait until a person is dead before saying all the nice things that are said at funerals. This is a way to let people say nice things direct to you! With a living funeral, you have no time restrictions and it can be held anywhere. This also allows for a direct cremation or an intimate funeral when the time comes, as you have already had the chance to say goodbyes, face to face. Maybe not for everyone, but it can be very liberating for some people.
