As a heart-led celebrant, every ceremony is written from scratch. No templates, no ‘fill-in-the-gaps’ pre-written scripts. Just a focus on you; your values, your story. Because that’s how I find the meaning in your ceremony – designed entirely around you.

Your wedding, your way
Your wedding or vown renewal should fit you as a couple, whether the feel is relaxed or formal. Your budget, venue, choice of music; your personal vows, rituals that have meaning to you – it’s all about you! The ceremony is your chance to commit fully to each other, in front of the people that are important to you. A personalised ceremony is so much more memorable than a pre-written script.
My fee for a wedding ceremony is £875. Travel to the venue is free for up to an hour. Over that, mileage or other transport costs are payable. A deposit is required in order to book your date, with the remainder due 6 weeks before your wedding day.
Keep it Simple celebration – From £495
Ideal for weddings, vow renewals and commitment ceremonies.
Only available midweek, and locally, within around 20 miles of Stroud.
This is a scripted ceremony – unlike my regular bespoke offerings. I wanted to bring in a simple, lower cost option for weddings, vow renewals or any other commitment ceremony. The ceremony can include any readings and music you want, a short personalised love story, simple handtying, exchanging your own vows and rings, and jumping the broom.
Perfect for small ceremonies, elopements, vow renewals, couples that are anxious about having too much focus on them, back gardens, smaller venues. It is suitable for any spiritual or religious beliefs.
The ceremony is likely to last 15-25 minutes, depending on the content you choose. I will aim to be at the ceremony half an hour before the start and will leave shortly afterwards. I am happy to have a face-to-face planning meeting with you, and will be available on email and WhatsApp for support. The basic cost of this ceremony is £495.
It is not available for weekend ceremonies, or for anyone that wants a personalised, unique ceremony.
So, since a celebrant is so great – what’s the catch?
At the moment in the UK, a celebrant can’t do the legal bits of the marriage. A registrar has to do that. There are a number of options for a registrar – they can come and conduct a ceremony at an approved venue, they can conduct a ceremony at a register office for a small number of people, or they can complete a simple registration of marriage at a register office with just you and two witnesses. The latter is the cheapest option – it’s generally done midweek and doesn’t involve a ring exchange or vows. This is the option I would advise, as it gets the legal bits done leaving you free to enjoy your wedding day exactly the way you want.
What can a celebrant do that a registrar can’t?
As we do not have any legal restraints we don’t have to use any fixed wording for your ceremony. A registrar ceremony cannot include any religious elements. I have no such restrictions – so if you want to play hymns, have religious readings or blend elements from different religions together, you can!
We can also involve important people in your ceremony. If you have children, they can be part of your ceremony. Or your parents, best friends, mentors – they can all play an important role.
As well as vows and rings, how about a handfasting? You can literally tie the knot! Or why not ‘jump the broom’ to bring prosperity and cross the threshold into your new life together? We can include ring warmings, unity candles, sand rituals and so much more, or come up with totally unique rituals for you that you will never forget.

How does it work?
First, get in touch with me to arrange a no-obligation chat. It’s important that you feel comfortable with your celebrant, so it’s a good idea to meet face to face if you can. If you are further afield, we can meet virtually in a video chat to discuss your ideas. If you decide that you do want to work with me, I’ll book in your date as soon as I receive your deposit.
We’ll then chat at least a couple more times coming up to the date. A few months beforehand, I’ll email you questions that will help me to write your ceremony. I really like people to fill these in separately without showing your partner, so I can get a really good idea of how each of you see the other and your relationship.
I’ll start working on your script around 4-6 weeks before the wedding. I’ll share the script that I’ve written with you, and we can make any changes that are needed. The balance of the fees are then due a month before the big day.
If you are local and want to have a ceremony rehearsal at the venue the day before, we can do that at no extra charge. There may be additional charges if I need to travel, but we will already have discussed that.
On the day I’ll be there at least an hour before the ceremony is scheduled. I’m only working on your ceremony on your wedding day, so if timings shift it’s not a problem.
